Bandwidth and charges

What is bandwidth, and how am I charged?

Put simply, it’s the volume of data delivered by our servers to your viewers. If you were to multiply the size of the encoded video by the number of plays it has received, that’s the total bandwidth.

My video file is huge, won’t this use up my allowance quickly?

Don’t worry – even though your source video may be a large file, it’s encoded on our servers to a much lower file size.

How many video files can I store?

Subject to the fair use policy in our terms, your storage is space is not limited.

What if users only download the file for a second then leave? Am I charged for the whole file?

Our logging is precise, and only the actual data downloaded will be added to your totals.

Can I change package?

Certainly, just contact us. We can change your package once every 30 days if you need to.

How many plays does the 75Gb package give me?

This is really hard to answer, there’s a huge number of factors; duration watched, length of the clip, size of the player used, how fast the viewer’s internet connection is. The best estimate we can give is an average from our existing customer’s traffic statistics. 75Gb gives around 15,000 views.

How do I keep track of my data usage?

Your dashboard will show you your current data usage, remaining data and an estimated bandwidth total for the current month.
