We offer some precise data usage controls to help closely manage bandwidth consumption. These controls are designed to restrict the amount of data transfer used by each video view.
Video pre-buffering is where the Buto player downloads the entire clip in the background while the viewer chooses whether to watch. This extra margin means smoother, higher-quality video delivery – but if you want to save bandwidth, switching it off will eliminate unnecessary data transfer.
Buto is designed to deliver the highest quality video that a viewer’s connection can withstand. It’s able to do this because our content delivery network hosts multiple versions of each of your videos. Switching bandwidth throttling on will restrict the versions that are provided such that regardless of connection speed, the largest version that will be served is the 800Kbps version.
There are a host of other advanced controls available in the Buto system including age restriction and IP address filtering.
