There’s a lot of talk (within the web video world at least) about how the battles that are happening now will affect the future of web video.

  • Apple don’t support Flash, and the iPhone plays H.264 video
  • Google bundle Flash with Chrome but have also open-sourced Web.M
  • Blackberry browsers can play H.264 but don’t support HTML5
  • Firefox supports HTML5 but only plays Ogg video
  • IE9 beta supports H.264 and HTML5 media tags

Confusing, right?

If you’re building your own site and trying to add video, the compatibility permutations can seem daunting: especially if you want to support mobile devices too.

Here at Buto HQ – we have to worry about this stuff so that you don’t have to. Upload your clip, then embed with our default embed code – and you’re done. It really is that simple, and you’ve covered as many devices as possible with one-click.

What’s more, because we retain your original source video, we can react to changes in the web video landscape by re-encoding your content library. If the next few years result in a new format becoming dominant: you’ll be ready with zero effort.
