We’ve upgraded the Buto online video platform to version 3.1 – here’s the low-down…

Clickable video

We’ve expanded our industry-leading clickable video system. You can now choose whether hotspots are visible on hover (the default), always invisible, or always visible. We’ve updated the ‘clickbuilder’ control panel as well, making building and editing interactive video easier than ever.

More flexibility for more exciting interactive projects on Buto.

Improved encoding

We’re really proud of our encoding and we try to optimise it wherever we can. This new version of Buto sees a doubling in our average encode speed, halving the time. Our previous average encode time was 6 minutes. In testing, we’re now seeing that reduced to around 3 minutes.

Try it for yourself and we think you’ll be surprised at how quickly your video files are prepared for the web.

New uploader

It looks the same, but the new Buto video uploader is faster and more reliable than before. Completely rebuilt and combined with our rock-solid video encoding, we’ve made it even easier to get your video content into your Buto account: and ready for use in a few minutes.

Robust Blackberry support

Support for Blackberry has been part of Buto for a while, but (we’ll be honest) it was a fiddly process making it work – and even then, not all devices were supported.

We’re pleased to add this support in for our growing army of Blackberry-toting business viewers. Blackberry Bold, Curve, Torch – most RIM devices of the last few years are supported now.

As a Buto user, there’s nothing extra to do: if you’re using our default embed code then Blackberry support is built in. Blackberry integration support.

User invites

Add new users to your account by ‘inviting’ them by email. The user can then set their own password, better for security and less hassle for you.
